Oh My What A Ball!!!

I really enjoyed attending the Columbus Arts Masquerade Ball with my friends. Which was a fundraising event for The OSU James Cancer Center. We had such an amazing time!!! In fact I had too much of an amazing time and paid for it the very next day big time but it was well worth it!!!!

Other than attending events such as the Masquerade Ball and the grand opening of Columbus newest hot spot Fleur. Which is a Champagne, vodka dessert lounge inspired concept (by the way love the concept, the decor and atmosphere!!). I've been doing photo shoots, preparing for my role as a vampire and trying to get into other projects to keep myself busy. One thing for sure, though I love Columbus I have to start traveling very soon. I think the problem with me having very little inspiration is because I've become too complacent and I need to spread my wings once again and travel to my favorite places such as New York, Chicago, Miami and maybe finally make my way to Las Vegas baby!!!

Have to recharge!and reestablish myself!!!

I know, I know!!! I said that I would get better at keeping my blog updated on a weekly or monthly bases but for some reason I just can't keep it going smoothly! I guess my mind is ALL over the place trying to find some steady ground!!!

Wondering what I've been up too??!! Well, I've been trying to free myself from a toxic relationship while getting my life back in order, now enjoying a loving and fulfilling relationship all while regaining the strength from within. I tell you, it's been a couple of trying years but I find it to be a growing experience to say the least. Sometimes it's best to look at stressful times in our lives as a lesson to be learned. We acknowledge, we learn, we grow and then we move on to enjoy better times in our lives!!! I think for most of us, we tend to dwell on the negative when there is sooo many wonderful things going on in our lives in which we should embrace wholeheartedly.

I can't believe how after so many wonderful and dear people in my life have told me time and time again how wonderful and how loved I am that I let just one narcissistic, sadistic, conniving, lying, vengeful person make me fell otherwise but no more!!! I've seen the light and I'm becoming a lot stronger as the days go by!!! I can't help but wonder if the illness they're suffering has a lot to do with karma!!! I truly believe that it does!!! As they say, "Karma is a BITCH"!!! Oh well, life goes on and I only grow stronger!!!!

My modeling career is still going strong (checkout my Facebook Page for more info.) and now I'm getting my feet wet with acting, playing the role of a vampire in the up and coming webisodes called "The Oakman Project"!!

Taking It One Step At A Time

Life has certainly had it's up's and down's for me but I continue to move forward with an optimistic attitude. I guess that's what gets me through the down times along with my faith and there has been plenty down times within these past couple of years.

I'm not affraid to say that I've fought with depression a great deal these past couple of years, forcing myself to face the day when in fact I wanted to stay in bed and just sleep the day away but it just wasn't an option for me. I have to climb that mountain no matter what the struggle may be because I know once I reach the top, there is nothing I can't accomplish!!!!

Another thing that helps me through is "graditude"!!! I am so grateful for my friends, my family, my fans who have shown me much love, understanding and have encourage me every step of the way. You give me strength!!! I love you all and I feel very blessed to have you in my life. I know when I am down all I have to do is smile and start thinking about the many happy moments I've experienced within my life then joy over comes me. Lately, I've had plenty of happy moments because of a special someone who's been part of my life for over a year. Just thinking about them brings a smile to my face but I will keep that secret for the time being even though locally a lot of individuals know who that person is. . . .

Anyway, I'm slowly getting back into the modeling biz. I've been doing a little freelance personal fashion stylist work and showing my support by attending local fashion events such as the "Gretchy Launch Party", Fashion Week Columbus, and the "Seven Deadly Sins" fashion show but now I'm making plans to travel to New York, Chicago, L.A. and Miami. It's time for me to shine once again!!!! As I've said before and will continue to say, "I'm like fine wine, I just get even better with time"!!!! :)

Before I go, a little tibit. Last night me and some friends went to a wine bar in the Short North called Mouton located at 954 N. High St. The decor may not have be five stars but the experience I had there certainly earned it five stars in my book. The atmosphere was very laid back. The service was right on point and the owner made the experience very warm and personal. So make sure to check it out and to all you out of towner's make sure to put it on your "places to visit" when you come to Columbus.

Can't Keep A Good Woman Down. . . .

As Mary J. Blige sings, "You can't keep a good woman down"!!! How true, how true!!!

Like I've mentioned before, I hit a few rough patches over the years which had me down but not out.

Life tends to test us every now and then. It's amazing that you find out just how strong you are when you are put through these test. Also the wisdom you obtain. You also discover the people who are truly there for you. Life is always teaching us a valuable lesson.

Without going into detail, I was in a relationship which drained me of my "Happy Go Lucky" spirit and almost sucked the life out of me. It's amazing how being in a toxic relationship can change you drastically but I'm recovering!!!

I'm hoping that the residue from the troubled relationship will not carry over into a new possible relationship. I'm a good woman and I deserve to be with a good man. I will no longer settle for less!!!

I not going to lie, the walls are up and it's going to be a little tough to tear them down.

In the meantime, I have my dear friends, close family members and the two loves of my life, my daughter and son that keep me going.

As some of you may have noticed, I did take a hiatus from the modeling to work on other projects but I'm slowly working my way back into it. So expect to see new photos popping up soon on my modeling site :)

Meanwhile, I've been running my Personal Fashion Stylist Service and working on launching "Probleme Resolu" a personal conceirge/errand service, along trying to maintain my social status (party girl can't fade away) : )

As I've said before, I'm like a Phoenix rising. . . so watch out!!!

Living Life

I have to say that I've been off my game for awhile, dealing with a lot of personal issues but I'm happy to say that I'm bouncing back. A Phoenix rising baby, a Phoenix rising!!!!Working on my sites, taking on newer projects, regaining my creativity and confidence. Along with getting back into the local social scene.

I tell you one thing, it's wonderful to have friends and family that are there for you in your time of need especially during these times when everything seems to be a bit grey. Like what's happening over in Haiti. Seeing what's been going on over there certainly makes me feel a lot more grateful for the good things that I do have in my life. My heart and my prayers go out to the victims of Haiti's earthquake. May God be with you and your families.

Tired of Being Tested. . . .

I swear, for the past several months it seems my life has consisted of one test after another. Especially when itt comes to how much cramp I can handle. I mean really!!!! Are you f@#king kidding me!!!!
It amazes me how people love to test your patience!!! They love to see how far they can push you like it's some type of joke or other words, see if they can really piss you off!!!!

I know, I know the saying is "if you let them get to you then they control the situation, therefore you have to remain calm and let it go". Yeah, easier said then done!!!!

Hmmmm, I think it's time to go doing a little workout on my punching bag. That tends to release my frustrations. . . .

The Battle. . . .

Here I sit looking outside my window at the whiteness that covers the ground, wishing that I was somewhere else preferably warmer gazing unto the clear blue sunny skies as a warm breeze cascades over me.

Needing a heavenly calm and peace to wash over me. For the past several months I've been trying to find a sense of well being while fighting off the negative things that try to continiously invade my life.

In the mist of all the stress, I've somehow lost that spark and I'm fighting so desperately to get it back.

I'm hating the feeling of sadness and helplessness that I seem to battle lately. It's not me!!!!
I have to find that fire within me to rekindle so I may remove myself from a situation that has caused me much unhappiness and truly enjoy the wonderous things along with the wonderous people in my life.

When I said this year was going to be the begining of a more positive and joyous life for me, I meant it. Nothing and no one will stand in my way!!! Not ever again!!!!

These may be ramblings to others but for those who know me, they know exactly what I am talking about.
I am a phoenix rising, so watch out :)

In Limbo

I know that it's been awhile since I've posted an entry within my blog. It's just a lot has been going on within my personal life and it has me going every which way but loose. I'm working real hard on getting things back on track and my creative juices flowing freely once again.

One must remember not to let negative people get the best of you because they try to dominate and bring you down with them. This is what happened to me and now I'm fighting my way back to being an optimistic and positive person once again. Surrounding myself with positive people, cleansing the mind, body and spirit while getting involved with worthwhile causes.

So stay tuned for projects that I have in the works, along with information on people, places and things within my local area because I'm back in the saddle again :)

The Day of Rememberance

January 20, 2009 marks a new historical moment in a American history as our nation's first Black president Barack Obama is worn into office as the 44th president of the United States of America, bring true meaning to the word United. It seems so surreal to me. I never thought in a million years, like so many others that I would be alive to witness this day. Words cannot express the joy and pride I truly feel to be an American on this day.

To see all the different nationalities and religions come together on this day to celebrate this momentous occasion was a wonderful sight and as our newly elected president Obama gave his Inaugural speech, I became teary eyed filled with hope and optimism.

We all know that he has a tough road ahead of him regarding the economy, health care and the environment to name a few of the problems he will face in office but I truly believe that he has the American people's best interest at heart. Therefore, before it's all said and done we all will witness a greater, stronger and truly united America!!!

So to all of the fashionistas, fashionable people and Americans everywhere, here's to our 44th president, President Barack Obama!!!

What Are They Doing???

Yesterday, I watched C-Span. Yes a pretty face with a brain go figure. . . lol
Yes, there are many facets to moi believe it or not :)
Now back to about me watching C-Span. . .

Members of congress were interrogating an intern from the Department of Treasury about the use of money from the Bail Out Plan.

I found it fascinating how there was no clear cut plan on how the money was going to be used. Nor were there any rules or stipulations on how the money was to be distributed. So we, the tax payers who were not thrilled about the Bail Out Plan in the first place are screwed once again. (I think there should be a Major investigation done regarding the whole situation because some things are not adding up!!!)

It goes to show that the senators we put in office don't know what the hell their doing or voting for (like the war in Iraq and the Patriot Act which most Americans were against also) nor do they have a clue when it comes to helping our country out of this financial crisis. For the senators who didn't want to vote for the Bail Out Plan but voted anyway, SHAME ON YOU for not standing up for the rights of the American people!!! Someone has to show some guts!!! If you're not going to stand for us, then don't stand at all!!!

I think it's time to put together a committee of smart, successful business men who can draw up a clear cut plan that will not be confusing to the members of congress or the American people that will help America's financial crisis.

Also I believe that it's high time for the creation of a political bipartisan party who is truly looking out for the Americans and their country's best interest instead of their own. A party that cannot be brought by special interest groups. A party that will take care of those who show the slightest sign of corruption. A party that will truly try it's best to unify this country. I know I'm a dreamer but I'm also an optimist who believes anything is possible.

I, along with other Americans have become tired of the partisanship between the Republicans and Democrats. Along with the fact I don't believe neither parties have worked to earn the trust or loyalty of the American people for quite a long time!!!

Will The Fashion Industry Ever???

It's true about the lack of ethnic models on the major runway shows now a days. Can someone tell me why the fashion industry decided to go backwards instead of moving forward? You would think with the world forever changing other medias would change along with it. I just don't get it??!!!

With different women of all shapes, sizes and ethnic backgrounds purchasing their clothing on a daily basis you would think they would start having models representing the different ethnic backgrounds showing up on various catwalks.

Hopefully, maybe the next wave of talented designers will pave the way for change because we certainly need someone to shake things up in the fashion industry. Showing that unity and change is a beautiful thing!!!!

Like Fine Wine

Last night I watched "She's Got The Look" on channel TVLand (which I think it should have been moved to another network). It's a modeling competition for models 35 and over, I have to say that I was very impressed by the show, showcasing that women are still just as beautiful and desirable pass the age of 35. Hell, I think your life truly begins when you're in your 30's.

I myself had plan to audition for the show by flying out to New York where they had auditions but due to a family matter I was unable to attend.

I wish I did but I'm quite sure I will get another chance because I think the show despite what network it's on will be a success.

I for one think, as many women get older they feel more confident, beautiful and sexy. Especially if they take good care of themselves both physically and mentally.

Kudos to the creators and producers of the show for showing that like wine many of us only get finer with time.

Running back and forth, up and down trying doing several things at once!!

From updating my Hip Multicultural Moms website, updating my blogs, answering email, mopping floors while reminising about how enjoyable my life was when I lived in NYC and felt like a princess to preparing my son's lunch, watering my garden, watering the horses, replying to invites, scheduling photo shoots, arranging meetings, scheduling activities, scheduling events, running around looking for the Murphy's Oil soap to clean the woodwork in my house.

Whew!!! People often ask me how I stay in shape other than exercising, well. . . . there you go!!!

For the fans, stay patient new photos will be appearing soon!!! Hopefully, I will be updating my Model's Den site within a couple of weeks. If you have any suggestions for The Model's Den site, feel free to send them to me.

Oh, haven't really had time to work on my designs as of yet but will try and get some samples completed and showcased on the site.

Dating Oneself . . . .

I figured just because I'm a fantastic, wonderful mom, friend, sibling, and daughter doesn't mean that I have to forget about little ole me.

Often times we as women tend to cater to everyone's needs but our own, causing us to be stressed, feel unappreciated and a tad bit resentful.

That's why I make it a point to have time for myself.
Time to relax, meditate, catch up on my reading and maybe sip a glass of vino while listening to some smooth jazz.

Then there are times where I will go out with some friends to dinner or to a club to let my hair down and free myself from stress.
Hey, I'm like a free spirit like the wind, a Libra who is ruled by Venus.

There has to be a balance, can't be all work!!

This year I promised myself that if there are times I need to go out to get a break and none of my friends can accompany me, then I will make it a point to go out with myself. If it's to go bike riding, to a coffee shop to read, a deli, a restuarant or a night club, then it can be me, myself and I.

Hmm, maybe I should take myself to Brownstone On Main some Tuesday and checkout the "Black Pearl Poetry" or checkout the "Thirty Something Thursdays" at Light Columbus. Of course if I don't have any other plans this weekend, I could always take myself to club Karma or BoMA. We'll see. I just hope I don't stand myself up.

Looking For Talent and Watching ESPN

Well it's suppose to be Spring, but it's hard to tell when looking outside my window. So dark and gloomy. Where is the sunshine ?

Right now I'm working on setting up an event for my Timeless Beauties project, while steady recruiting models for the project and for my modeling group MDMG - Models Den Model Group & Associates.

All while watching racial issues regarding sports on ESPN. Does it bother me about the racial issues in America? Of course it does, but I can't let it get the best of me especially being a black woman. Through history, we have been wrongly stereo-typed, ridiculed and disrespected.

Still we march on dispelling the rumors and venomous words with our heads held high. Showing that we are strong, very intelligent, well spoken and deserve the highest respect. Regardless of the craziness, I'm a proud black woman and never wanted to be anything else. I will continue to stand proud and I will continue to fight for cultural unity!!!

Alright, now back to the job or should I say jobs at hand Timeless Beauties event planning, recruiting more talent, setting up photo shoots, trying to finish up a couple more designs, organizing activities for my moms group (Hip Multicultural Moms) and taking care of my family.

Well, I guess it's time to put on a big pot of strong coffee.
Anyone want to take me with them when they go on vacation. . . lol

Why Do We Do It???

This morning after getting out of the shower I pondered about the ritual that I was about to perform. The ritual of "Putting On My Jeans".

As I paced back and forth staring at my jeans which seem to mock me while laying upon my bed, all I could think of was, "WHY"? Why I must I put myself through this every time?

As I pondered a little while longer, I had finally held the jeans in my hand. Bending down, I began to slide one foot into one leg and then the other, easily pulling them up over my calves, then over my knees. . . .soon the workout began!!! Jumping up and down, tugging and pulling wondering if I ate too many sweets the day before or did too many deep knee bends or squats (thoughts that always seem to plague my mind when engaging in this ritual), because it always seems as if the workout begins when pulling the jeans over my thighs, hips and behind.

More jumping and pulling, jumping and pulling, finally the jeans are resting on my waist. I breath a sigh of relief hoping not to pass out, I zip them up and snap or just button them up whichever the case maybe (today it was buttoning). Putting on a nice designer blouse and one of my favorite pair of heels, I look into the mirror and smile. "Now this is why we do what we do". . . . . . . . . . . to look good!!!

Self Control

Settling for constraints and not giving into emotions. Settling for less than what's truly wanted, feeling content without the fire nor the passion.

Conforming, resisting, living with the void but the soul knows and continues to feel the presistance along with a strong yearning.

Feel the breeze across my skin, listening to the songs of the birds outside my window pane. Alive, so alive and wanting to be free.

Free of anger, free of pain, free of doubt, free of others negative opinions, free to truly feel.

Business As Usual

Well Columbus Fashion Week has come to a close and I have to say that I was very impressed!

Thanks to Ed Kavishe of Imajin Studios & Management LLC for putting together the city's first annual fashion event which was held at BoMA and hosted by Crystal Wilson from The CW local affiliate television station.

Columbus first Annual Fashion Week featured such wonderful designers and retailers such as G & Co, Geisha El Hasan, Xantha Ward's denim designs, Samara Collins, Arden B of Easton Town Center and European Couture designer Silva Levit.

I am truly looking forward to next year's event!!!

Now back to my business at hand. After a week of networking and attending fashion shows, I'm back to putting together my designs, recruiting models to join my group , getting the right permits, business licenses, writing proposals for potential sponsors, and the never ending work of networking. Which I love because it only increases my circle of friends.

Regarding the Hip Multicultural Mom's Group I created, I'm still looking for volunteers to help out with events and activities. I can't do it alone. So I'm hoping that there will be more mom's who join who are truly interested and dedicated to helping the group grow.

Well, I'm off to get embroiled in paper work.

Trying To Do My Thing. . . .

I'm keeping quite busy with several projects in the works along with taking care of my children who are the most important loves of my life!!!!

I've been trying to really organize the Mom's Group - Hip Multicultural Moms that I created. I really want to see this baby grow and with the help of dedicated people, my vision will become a reality. Right now I'm trying to help my special events and project coordinators come up with events and activities for the group. I know many of the members have to be suffering from cabin fever. I know I am!!!!

Along with that project, I've been quite busy sketching and creating on the sewing machine which I do not like to sew, but in order to bring my designs to life I have to tangle with the contraption, bringing Signature S a part of E & S Designs to life.

Along with that, I've been working on a business plan for Model's Den Model Management. My very own modeling agency. Trying to come up with creative ways to really promote and market it. I don't want to go into any of my projects half cocked.

Well, after all of the persuading from my friends. I've finally decided to start my own modeling agency!!!

First I'm going to start off small with just a small group of models both male and female. Then let it grow over time. There's a lot of work to be done so I know I'm going to be quite busy for several weeks.

Not only with choosing models, redesigning my website to incorporate the agency but with other various projects, one being my mom's group the other being the up n coming Columbus Fashion Week in March.

Had a fantastic weekend!!! Friday at BoMA we chose one female and one male for the 1st Annual Columbus Model Quest. So congradulations to the winners Dominique and Brad, well deserved!!!

Met some wonderful people and partied both Friday and Saturday like there was no tomorrow.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics "Occupational Outlook Quarterly" (OOQ), most modeling agencies set minimum height requirements for female models at five feet nine inches and weight between 108 and 125 pounds. Furthermore, NYTimes.com reports that the top models now are former-Soviet Union imports. The Times Web site quotes James Scully, a casting agent for Gucci, "You just can't sell an American model right now because editors completely don't appreciate them."
Age requirements for modeling also make for tough competition. The "Occupational Outlook Quarterly" suggests that female models usually start out between the ages of 14 and 21, but can be as young as 12. In some situations this means that education takes a back seat and older models don't have a chance. The OOQ reports:
"Sometimes, the glitz is so incredible that young people don't look at the long haul," says Lee Whitfield, owner of David Lee Models in Chicago, "and the importance of schooling and education gets pushed to the side--sometimes, even by parents."
The OOQ also quotes modeling agent Dan Hollinger of the Kim Dawson Agency in Dallas, who says, "It's extremely important for models to finish school because you always have to think about the 'What if...?' What if something happens and you no longer have the ability to model? You have to have an education."

Modeling Schools Are Not Necessary

Yesterday, as we interviewed the "Columbus Model Quest" contestants for the final elimination. I cringed when some of them brought up the fact that they went to John Casablanca Modeling school.

When I started out wanting to model, I made the costly mistake of attending the John Casablanca Modeling school. It was just a waist of money. When I moved to NYC to study fashion designing and marketing, finding myself entering into the modeling industry soon after signing with Next when they were first starting out (oops! I may have given away my real age. . lol). I discovered that alot of major modeling agencies find modeling schools to be big scams preying on the dreams of wanna be models.

A school is not an agency
Aspiring models have been confused in the past, assuming a school was an agency. Even though the school may not call itself an agency, those who are unfamiliar with the modeling industry have made the mistake of assuming some modeling schools were modeling agencies.
This has happened, for example, with John Casablancas modeling schools. John Casablancas used to be the leader of an agency (Elite), and thus aspiring models associated his past with the present situation. John Casablancas Career Centers, however, are not modeling agencies, and Mr. Casablancas is no longer at Elite. He reportedly left the Elite agency in 2000.
Just as some potential models have made a mistake without coercion, others have been led to believe a school was an agency, because the school acted as if it was an agency, behaving similarly to agencies by using "model scouts," open calls, and telling the young people they had been "selected."
Company names can add to the confusion for potential models trying to differentiate between a school and an agency.
A franchise of Barbizon in Wilmington, Delaware, was listed by the BBB as "Barbizon Modeling School & Agency," making it look like a school and an agency, but the BBB business classification was "Schools-Modeling."
BBB classifications are not entirely consistent and not always accurate, but in states like Texas and Florida, it is easy enough to find out if a company is an agency or simply a school by checking to see if they have a talent agency license.
BBB Classifications
The BBB file for Barbizon of Orlando described the "type of entity" as "model school"; the TOB classification: "Schools-Modeling"; but the "nature of business": "This company offers a model & talent agency"; and yet the state talent agency database had no listing of any Barbizon in Florida with a talent agency license, and the only license it has listed was with "Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services."
School to Agency and Agency to School
To further confuse the situation, the nature of a company's business can change, so it clearly becomes more important to find out the current situation with the company, and not rely on the past.
For example, an agency can become a school, as was the case with John Robert Powers; and a school can become an agency, as was the case with Avante Models.
Avante described themselves as "a full-service modeling and talent agency," but they used to be a modeling school.
In 1999, their site said, the company was bought and got a new owner. "In 2001, "Avante Modeling School/Agency" became "AVANTE' Models and Talent" ... The modeling school was discontinued and has become a "training center."
And, as earlier noted, John Casablancas, who used to work with an agency (Elite), no longer does, and instead works with schools (John Casablancas Career Centers).
Agency regulations
Modeling schools in general have a bad reputation, and modeling agencies tend to distance themselves or make sure they are not seen to be associated with them in order to establish themselves as reputable.
But the modeling school issue may be understood much more clearly through noting talent agency regulations in at least two states where there is a lot of modeling.
In Florida, a talent agency cannot require attendance at a school as a condition of registration or work:
No talent agency shall, as a condition to registering or obtaining employment for any applicant or artist, require the applicant or artist to subscribe to, purchase, or attend any publication, postcard service, advertisement, resume service, photography service, school, acting school, workshop, acting workshop, or video or audiotapes (2000->Ch0468->Section%20410">Florida Statutes, Title XXXII, Chapter 468.412).
In Texas, it is similar, making the requirement to use certain services prohibited:
A talent agency may not require an applicant or artist to subscribe to or use a specific publication, video or audio tape, postcard service, advertisement service, resume service, photographer, or acting or modeling school or workshop (Texas Talent Agencies Occupation Code, Title 13, Sec. 2105.202).
Why would there be laws prohibiting the requirement of attending modeling schools as a condition of representation? Don't new models need to be "agency ready"?
Clearly the legislators recognized the abuses of the past and the potential for fraud in the future. By allowing agencies to charge upfront fees for schooling, the agencies would be able to make a significant amount of money and even most of their income through the schools and not from commissions.
This arrangement would allow the agencies to pretend they were going to help models get work, but then not bother, because they had already been paid hundreds or thousands of dollars for classes.
Then the models would never recoup their education expenses. The agencies would make a lot of money but the models nothing.
Therefore the law puts a logical check on the obvious conflict of interest.
Open calls
Why do aspiring models go to modeling schools if they are not necessary? Why do they pay hundreds or thousands of dollars in the hopes of getting signed by and work though a modeling agency after attending a modeling school?
The New York City Department of Consumer Affairs asserts it is simply because the prospective models do not know they can directly access the agencies on their own without payment.
Few people enrolled at modeling schools, or signed up by scam agencies, know about “open calls” at modeling agencies. At least once a week, model managers and agents have an open call — a period of time when they look over people off the street who want to know if they have a chance. Open calls are great places to start, because you will get free evaluations by experienced agents. Prospective models are required to bring a few snapshots with them to open calls.

I've dusted off my sketch pad in hopes of finding inspiration to sketch out some new fashion designs. So far, I've come up with a couple, but the ideas are not flowing the way I thought they would. Hmmmm, I have to find a way to remedy that.

I'm predicting that the fashion scene in Columbus will start exploding and I want to be very mucha a part of it and not just as a career model.

A little tibit for the locals in the fashion and art biz, every Friday BoMA (Bar of Modern Art) is the place to be for the industry professionals to network. So make sure to bring your business cards or comp cards to exchange. Remember, this coming friday the 19th is the "Fashion Catwalk Chanllenge" the final challenge of the "1st Annual Columbus Model Quest competition."

Well, we've choosen the 25 contestant for the first round of the Columbus Model Quest Competition presented by Style-ology LLC.

On Wednesay the 17th we will then whittle it down to 10 contestants.

Then on Friday the 19th BoMA (Bar of Modern Art) will host the Fashion Catwalk Challenge finale for the contest. One male and one female winner will be announced.

Just Another Day. . .

Well today, I took down the christmas decorations, did some dusting, excercised with my six year old lil guy since he is aspiring to be a pro football player. Did a little updating on my websites "The Model's Den" and "Hip Multicultural Moms".

Worked on my schedule for this month, setting up meetings and photo shoots. Sent out confirmations for meetings and social events.

Which reminds me here are a few up n coming scheduled local events that appear on my site postings that models, photographers, makeup artists, stylists along with others involved in the fashion and art world maybe interested in.

After answering a few important emails I think I will relax, poor me a glass of merlot and catchup on some reading. Just finished reading "Rendezvous With Fate" by Jeanne Sumerix, now I'm reading "Beyond The Rapture" by Beverly Clark. Both appear to be good reading.

Hopefully sometime soon when I'm able to sit down and really concentrate, I will be able to give detailed advice on how to get into the modeling industry without being scammed or spending a great deal of money.

A New Year, A New Begining

First off "Happy New Year" to everyone!!!

For me, this new year means new beginings. A year for growth, change and rebuilding.

Out with the old, in with the new and I'm going to start living for me.

For awhile, I felt the life being sucked out of me because of an unhappy situation I found myself in, but that's going to change.

I'm going to start living again!!!! Living for me and not the way others think I should live, resulting in me staying in a bad situation that's caused me nothing buy grief and frustration, but no more!!!! I have toooo much going for me to just let it all waste away, plus I don't want to be a person who lives with regret.

So here's looking to the new year!!!

Silly me!!!! Did an oops by accidently deleting my google account, I ended up deleting my blogger account. So all my previous blogs have been erased and I have to start all over again.

Oh well, that's life and I was planning on doing a blog about getting into modeling while avoiding all the scams. I may just do that blog sometime tomorrow morning. We'll see how my schedule pans out.
